Working with me to make your hopes and dreams a reality for your bespoke wedding gown is a relaxing and enjoyable experience. However, I know it can seem overwhelming, particularly if you’ve never worked with a couture designer before.
I’ve put together a list of questions I’m often asked by clients, so that you will feel more reassured and prepared when we start our journey together.
Who should I bring for fittings?
I recommend bringing no more than 2 supportive friends (small studio space) and please ask for no children, animals, or messy food or drinks!
Do you make black wedding dresses?
You are my muse. I will make your dress in whatever colour you choose and ensure that it speaks to your authentic personal vibe, but...elevated.
What happens if I'm overseas?
Brides travel to me from overseas! If that's not possible for you, contact me to see how I can still help.
How long is a Sapphire fitting appointment?
Usually an hour, however you can’t rush art; I want to be certain of what I need to make and I want more than anything for you to feel happy and reassured by the progress of your bespoke wedding gown.
Can you copy a design I've seen elsewhere
I can, but I won't. It's neither legal, nor ethical to copy another designer's work after they've put time and soul into their development. Besides, I would translate it in my style and you may not be content with that.
I can take inspiration from a dress in terms of overarching style.
When should I book for the Sapphire bespoke experience?
Brides have booked as far in advance as 2 years, to ensure my availability, however I start the process 1 year ahead of your wedding date.
Do you offer evening and weekend appointments?
Evening appointments are available Monday – Friday until 6.00pm (last start time) and Saturdays 11.00am – 4.00pm.
If you are coming a long way, or have a tricky schedule, we can usually find a workable solution, so just contact me.
When do I need to settle my balance by?
For bespoke, 6 weeks prior to you collecting the gown.
Do you make traditional bridalwear?
All kinds of brides are catered for. If you can't find the perfect dress in stores, I can help and respect your wish to be traditional.

How does payment work?
To book me, you will need to pay the first £1,000 of the final price. The next £1,000 is due when fabric and toile have been approved. The balance is due 6 weeks before collection of the gown.
I accept bank transfers for this and if you prefer, you can pay in monthly instalments, finishing 6 weeks before gown collection.
What should I bring to my bespoke gown fittings?
For your first fitting, please wear/bring:
- a supportive underwired bra that gives you a nice shape
- black leggings
- black snug T-shirt/vest
- wedding shoes, or shoes of similar height
Any colour references, inspo pics, accessories etc...

For subsequent fittings, please bring the shoes.
How much do your fully bespoke dresses cost?
The Sapphire package starts at £2,500 for a custom fitted gown.
The Black Diamond package starts at £4,500 and will feature elevated details, materials and experience
Are you LGBTQA+ friendly?
Yes, I just want to help lovely people feel good about themselves on their wedding day.
Just know that my strength lies in making dresses, rather than trouser suits
Can I bring children or dogs?
Unfortunately not, as they can be unpredictable and messy and my studio has many delicate and sharp objects about.
What should I bring to each fitting?
Bespoke first appointment: A supportive underwired bra, and wear a black snug T-shirt and black leggings
Alterations: bra if more than C cup, foundation garments, petticoat, wedding shoes
Are there customer facilities available?
No, because it is quite far into my private home area, which I like to keep separate from my family
Do you do bridal alterations on gowns bought elsewhere?
Of course! Book your first appointment here 12 weeks before your wedding day/destination flight.
How many fittings are needed for bespoke wedding dresses?
Typically 3-4. If you are coming from afar, I am very good at getting a lot done remotely and using your time with me very productively.
How many people can I bring with me to my fittings?
Up to 2 if your gown isn't too voluminous!

How far in advance should I book you?
Bespoke: as far in advance as you like, but otherwise at least a year, to give you the optimal experience and range of choices.
