My 6 Favourite 2024/2025 Wedding Trends
Wedding trends can be a minefield, as each year we’re seeing so many new ones pop up on social media and while many of them have their merit, you want to be sure that your wedding photos won’t look outdated in years to come!
Even if like me, you don’t follow trends slavishly, making well-informed wedding planning decisions makes it worth considering them, just to see if there are any ideas amongst them for you to bend to your own taste.
So choosing the ones that are right for you and adapting them as you see fit is the answer.
Here are my top 6 favourite wedding trends that will play out for the next couple of years, with some ideas of how to make them your own!
Peach Fuzz
‘Peach fuzz’ has been voted Pantone’s colour of the year- and I think it’s gorgeous. Not only is it soft and romantic, it’s neutral and can be paired with just about anything. Think peach-coloured floral arrangements, linens, and decor elements to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. For the bride, this could include soft, ethereal fabrics like tulle or chiffon, or by wearing peach-toned accessories such as shoes or hairpieces for a whimsical, dreamy and feminine feel.
Or you could use it as a sassy base colour for a retro style wedding. I love the idea of splashing it with an accent of crimson to amp up the charisma!
Coloured Wedding Dresses
A coloured wedding dress adds a modern twist to the classic bridal look, reflecting the bride’s personality and preferences. It’s for the non-traditional bride who wants to look fabulous, be herself and have a blast. As a wedding dress designer, I come across lots of brides who opt for this, as they struggle to find exactly what they’re looking for in normal boutiques.
You can go all out bold in head to toe vibrant shades or just subtle touches of coloured embroidery or beading within an ivory wedding dress, which might only be delightfully perceptible when you’re up close!
Of course there is an “anywhere in between” zone and I can help you hit on just the right balance for you!

Basque Waists
The basque waist has re-emerged as a wedding dress trend recently, and it suits just about anyone. It features a waistline that dips in the centre, usually creating a V-shape. It typically includes a fitted bodice that extends below the natural waistline, before bursting out into a voluminous skirt, creating a beautiful hourglass figure.
What I love about this design feature is that:
by breaking the straight horizontal line at the waist, it creates the illusion of a narrower waist
The corseted bodice extending below the waistline keeps the stomach area flattened, where otherwise a full skirt would create additional bulk.
it elongates the bodice, creating a much more elegant look. This is great for brides with a shorter waist.
The Art of Theming
Lots of couples like to pick a theme for their wedding- maybe it’s a favourite book or film, hobby, or style. Picking a theme lets you personalise your wedding and include elements that reflect you and your partner’s personalities, interests, or cultural backgrounds. Not only is it unique, it means you have a consistent vision for all the elements of the day, from the food, decorations and outfits.
As a designer, I love the fantasy/escapist aspect of a wedding day – where a couple’s aspirations are crystallised in 3D, to delight all the senses. For this, I heartily encourage you to create a day that is so far removed from the humdrum of everyday life and using a strong theme is the easiest way to do this.
You will whisk yourselves and all your guests into a wonderful romantic whirlwind, that will never be lost in among many “same old” weddings that came before.
This WILL be a day to remember, for sure.

For those who love nature but don’t want to trust the British weather, adding natural elements to their indoor venue is a great way to create a fresh, earthy atmosphere. This could include wooden, organic materials in the furniture, lush greenery, foliage, and floral arrangements throughout the wedding decor, and big, bright spaces with great natural light.
Doing it in Your Own Style
It’s important that your wedding is your own – I’ve noticed more and more couples adding personal touches and getting imaginative with their day to keep it unique. From novelty decorations to unlikely venues, there are plenty of ways you can make your day reflect your personalities, tastes and love story.
For lots of brides picking their wedding dress, they have a vision in their head which isn’t quite reflected in dresses off the rack. If this is you, then it’s time to consider a handmade, bespoke dress!
